Costco moves pallets of stuff behind the two front doors at night.
Usually the stuff you see on the side when you walk in.
Durable heavy goods that are easy to clean up. No glass!

The old Sportsman's Warehouse (don't know what it is today because I was in there a very long time ago) put it's pistols on wall pegs, hung from the trigger guards. At night they were covered with roll down "Ghetto Doors". It would take a chop saw to get into them.

I am amazed at how many gun stores, even after the rash of smash and grab burglaries, don't secure their handguns at night in a large safe and at least secure the long guns with cable through the trigger guards or chain with individual padlocks to each rifle.

There's a little voice in the back of my head saying that there might be some ATF regulations coming soon that will require more after hours security than just locking the front door and leaving all the firearms on display. A news interview on TV last night with I believe an ATF agent, alluded to that when he suggested dealers needed to "lock up" their firearms after hours.

Oh I'm sure they'll prosecute these dudes for violating 595------------once they catch them. On that note, the "police community" doesn't seem to be scoring very well. How many gun store smash and grab's have been solved in the last 5 years?

Stolen guns usually just turn up in another unrelated case, when the cops run the serial numbers.
Not like the police drop everything they are doing and actually go looking for your missing guns.

In the twisted minds of the current leadership it is just another property crime to ignore. Once the guns show up on crime scenes, they can be used for political gains towards new gun regulations. Pretty simple really. Twisted, but simple. No work required.

Sounds like someone knew that the change was taking place and wanted to take advantage while they could....
