OK fellas.... I need to find a good BBQ joint within this geographic area. Narrowed down, I'd like it to be north of Tacoma, south of Seattle, and not too far off of the I5 or 405 corridors.

That's 'central' enough that everyone meeting would have to drive about an hour, but not two.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, that doesn’t exist ….

Anyone that types Jacks in this thread needs to be dropped off in Portland.

Well…it’s close to your geographic parameters…Gig Harbor.

BBQ2U

I haven’t been there in a long time, but they made some decent chow.

There’s also The Ranch House, even closer to you. Not great, but pretty good, especially on a road trip.

Yeah, Jack’s isn’t great, but in a pinch, can be tolerable on certain days…

Nothing is a perfect fit in your geographic requirements, but better than most that fall within.

Down in the south end, there is better than RanchHouse, I think. Yelm is starting to have quite a lot going on..... Cattleman's and Jerk Juicy, and the few BBQ offerings that Masonry Cafe has are often good.

Moving up north, I've had Branks quite a few times, and it's OK. But one of the guys has a strong dislike for it. One of the guys loves BBQ Petes.... which... well.... might as well go get a McRib.

BBQ2U is better than all of that, but, yeah, outta your geo, I get it.

Jack’s isn’t great, but I’d hit it over Pete’s or Brank’s any day.

They’re in Algona and Lakewood.

Commence the BBQ-shaming… :ROFLMAO:

Warthogs is tolerable on the days you get fresh stuff.

Pretty sure Woodinville isn’t between North Tacoma and South Seattle…

I haven't seen anyone mention Caveman Kitchens in Kent or Longhorn in Auburn Milton

I've never eaten at either

I've been to Cedar River Smokehouse in Renton a couple of times with a guy I know from Texas who takes his BBQ seriously. It was pretty good, but it's been a long time since I was there.

It's been nearly a decade since I was there. Always had good food.

3 Pigs in Bellevue was always a let down.

I want to try Caveman Kitchens in Kent.

Bob’s in Tacoma….

Been there since 1948 in the same building. If you like pepper, they do tend to use a lot of it.

I used to drive past that all the time and never stopped there, it's a bit out of the way now since I changed jobs but I may have to make time trip.

I went to Bob's yesterday to give it a test run. It was good, not great. They really depend on their sauce, which is OK, to make the meal. The meat was average.
I got the brisket sandwich and rib tips. Pricing is cheap. But, the price/value/quality equation all lined up.

Probably not where I would want to go or travel for.
