| Post subject: | Air fryer suggestions |
The wife asked me about air fryers. I know as much about them as I know about brain surgery. I know there is a thread or four here about air fryers but to save time and frustration, which ones are recommended?* *There are only two of us and don't need anything real fancy. |

A little 3.7 quart Cooks brand, got a JCPenney probably 5 years ago. Works wonderfully. $62 Model # is 22288C. LIke it so much, bought another one last year for the cabin. |

I've had two air fryers. First was Ninja flip-type (flips up to save counter space), basically it's an oven type with a front-opening door. It was okay, but ultimately I disliked the short height (couldn't cook tall things), and the it was hard to clean and I had to be careful not to cook wet stuff. Next was my Cosori Dual Blaze, which I still use and which I absolutely love. It's a drawer style, fairly large, easy to clean, and as the name implies it has heating elements both above and below your food. This means that most foods can be cooked with either no flipping or a minimum of flipping/shaking, which is different than most air fryers. like steve said the flip up type to save counter space, basically a giant toaster. or are you looking for like a multi purpose.... ninja foodie pressure cooker saute, fryer, dehydrate, broil, steam and slow cook |

I have the air fryer lid for the Instant Pot. Yeah, it works, but it's really not as good as the others. For me, I'm completely sold on the "drawer style" air fryers, I think they're just a lot more practical for most foods. And I'm a whore for that Dual Blaze, the extra heating element really makes a difference. |

You can spend less if you want . . . but I'm tellin' ya, I'm sold on the Dual Blaze. Constantly flipping and shaking the basket while you cook is a pain in the ass. As for the size, it's pretty big in the world of air fryers, but it's not huge. I only have two people in my house too, and it's definitely NOT too big. |

I was just at Costco looking at the Cuisinart they have there. Like Rick the price was above my range. MP, have you made french fries in the Dual Blaze? |

Cut a potato into wedges, spray some oil on them, sprinkle on some seasoning, and then 400 degrees for 20 minutes. AWESOME. |

+1 on the Cosori, we love ours. They have sizes all the way from 4 qts, to 13. You want a decent size, say, even for 2 people…you might cook something for 1 meal, and want leftovers, or, say, put 2 chicken breasts in, and then add asparagus part way through. Or, you may decide that you want to cook a whole chicken in it. The basket is only 1/2 the size of the machine, so, the amount you can cook is not as large as it seems. And if you have kids, or grandkids over who want some fries, well… It’s like a safe, get bigger than you think you’ll need

We had one of the OG air fryers. It was a single breast at a time size. It was hard to clean and started to get grimy. I decided to toss it since our use of it slowed down. Mostly slowed down because we would have to do multiple loads. I keep wanting another one but don't want to drop $100+ just for it to be used sparingly. Edit: I see this one at Target and Kohl's for $144. I cannot tell the difference between this one and the back on at Amazon.
