Post up your successes. I just got home from a surprisingly short hunt. Was hunting out of the Winthrop area, and bagged this 3 point at 317 yards with a Tikka T3x in 300winmag. Have some other pics, will update as I can. How did everyone else do?

Good looking buck. I did not hunt this year. My folks live in Twisp. Mom said she seen two, 3 points in their back yard on Wednesday. That's very rare. Normally they are all taken by opening day.

My deer is just chillin' in a box. It's smaller, but still a good size to learn on. This time we were able to get the deer dressed without spilling its guts everywhere :)

I haven't ever hunted but I know a few that do. It seems to be a common theme this year to fill your tag pretty quick. One buddy got is within the first hour this year. Seems like the game must be in abundance.
Hey Kyle, can you smoke venison? More importantly, is smoked venison any good?

Hey Kyle, can you smoke venison? More importantly, is smoked venison any good? I imagine you can smoke it, I just never have, except for some jerky. Venison is very lean meat, all the fat is outside tbe muscle. He was also rutted up, neck was pretty swollen. I'll get the back straps, maybe a couple small roasts, but a lot of this guy we will grind into burger.

A couple more shots of it. We're really surprised at the size of the rear tines. My buddy who is a much more experienced hunter than me, swears this guy is a migrator.
