Anyone know of someone who could fashion or install a single point sling mount on a Sig 556? I have a rifle class coming up on the 23rd and don't want to use a standard style sling if I can help it. I can have Sig do the work but it's a long turnaround time, definitely not in time for the class.

Here is what sig has been installing, disregard the color circles. I can get the mount itself, I just need someone to do the machining.

Thanks!

The back of the lower receiver. The slot for the sling loop does not exist on the older rifles.

Isn't that what the little loop on the left is for?

I see now. That looks like an easy milling job. I would offer but, I'm 100 miles away and you might need a more vice or jig than I have to hold it properly. I think you could rough that in with a Dremel and finish with a file, if you had to.

Ya that's what I was trying to avoid. I'm sure it'd work, it just wouldn't be pretty. Several vendors sell the mount itself, I just need the slot milled out.

The photo is what the new rifles look like. Its the only photo I could find online from that angle? Mine is one of the few where they had just switched to the new stock but then didn't add the slot and sling mount until later.
