Hi! My wife and I are relocating to the tri-cities in February from Nashville, TN. We lived in Connecticut from '08-'13 and left to be closer to family after having twin boys in late 2013...that and the state was really going down-hill. I knew a looot of people moving away.
We moved to TN but haven't enjoyed it too much this time around. My wife works in healthcare and the atmosphere for her profession in the area is not great. I am a freelance audio engineer (I record music). You would think Nashville would be a great place, but the market is SUPER oversaturated. I went to college just South of Nashville and left the state originally for this same reason, and nothing has changed. A couple of hospitals in WA have been trying to heavily recruit my wife, we settled on Tri-Cities.
Shooting is a pretty big hobby of mine, I did some competitive shooting in CT before we left, so I'm looking forward to seeing what is around.

I also did a couple shoots that were similar to USPSA. I would love to try IDPA, USPSA, Steel Challenge, and 3-gun...I haven't gotten a chance to shoot any events in TN, the closest range that hosts regular events is over an hour away.

Thanks for all the welcomes! oldkim wrote: Check out... Tri Cities https://www.tcsa.info/Rattlesnake Shooting Facility Multiple disciplines... USPSA, IDPA, Cowboy, Long range rifle... I tried to check them out when we visited in early October but I attempted on a day that they were closed to the public. We are coming back to look for housing in mid-January, I'll try to check it out then!

Nope, just nice to have another right thinking person to add to the discussion and your perspective from CT will be great to have. Make sure you check out some of the thread on the 594 mickey mouse initiative that was recently passed. Adding some understanding of the mess CT created might help sway a few lost souls here!
