Hey all, great site..
Mostly interested in the Greenwater shooting sites off HWY 410.. and updates..
Thanks to those that "cleanup" and help the FS keep the areas going..

I'll be dropping a few shekles to the site to do my part....(hope others do so as well).

I do have a couple questions:

QUESTION.... I did find a couple other area's on FS roads where folks had been shooting, are they "available" other than "the pit" and "the clear cut". ???
I don't want to contribute to the problem...

QUESTION... If someone already had a fire pit in the shooting area, is it OK to "burn" paper/cardboard that is laying around ??

thanks again,
don

Hai Karate! Welcome.

I wouldn't go burning stuff until we get some more rain. Usually, though, in the Nat'l forest you shouldn't get trouble burning a campfire (including non-toxic trash)

Is this you in the videos?

1) Click the big RULES button at the top of the page.
2) Look for the "How to post cool stuff - BBCode Usage" thread.

Yes, in general you can shoot in other areas as well. There are some spots with "no shooting" signs, obviously you can't shoot there.

A few things to keep in mind:

- Make sure you're not shooting over/across a road or waterway.
- No shooting Tannerite, propane tanks, or anything that explodes or causes fire.
- MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN EARTHEN BACKSTOP. Don't shoot into the trees, and don't shoot over the top of a hill.
- Don't shoot trees.
- And of course, please clean up any garbage.

Thanks for being willing to help with the Greenwater effort. We're still tentatively planning on doing a group shoot and cleanup there on October 7th or 14th, but are still waiting for info from the Forest Service. Seems like they're kinda busy at the moment, something about half the forest being on fire . . . .

Welcome! If you plan a trip to Greenwater next week, be sure and check for Forest closures first. The fires are fairly close to the Greenwater shooting area's now, (in some places further up, the fires have burned through) and they may have restrictions in place.
Just a thought, and welcome aboard!
