North End box up for grabs

Sat Jan 27, 2024 7:14 pm

North end box is up for grabs again, sorry for the delay. Will pick a winner next weekend.

To be eligible:

* You must be a site supporter (make the donation before joining the drawing, click on the yellow "Donate" button toward the top of the page).
* You must be willing to meet somewhere between Seattle and Mount Vernon area. If travel distance is supposed to be larger please let me know and ill fix it.
* You must be willing/able to pick up the box, go through it, add your contributions, post the drawing and get it to the new person within one month (the sooner the better, but if you don't think you can handle the responsibility of doing this in less than 30 days, please don't join the drawing).
* You must log the items you take/add in a notebook found inside the box. For example, "On 2/28/2015, JohnDoe took one AR magazine and put in 5 AK magazines."
* You must add items of equal or greater value than what you remove (this is important to keep the PIF Box interesting/fun/high value).
* You will take the time to skim the notes in the log book AND take the time to help label stuff in the box. (Especially stuff you put in. If its a brace or handle or barrel or holster or whatever, label it clearly or bag it with a label so everyone can figure out what stuff is without playing guessing games.

If no one else gets in I'll take it again to clean it up a little. Hopefully, there will be several others who will join.
Let's try to get this actually circulating again since the last 3 or so ended up with the box for almost a year between them.

Reminder to others.
A. Don't strip the box of all the good stuff. Leave some for others!
B. this is not supposed to be a junk box but all too often that is exactly what seems to end up in there. Let's try for some more quality over quantity of low value stuff.
C. If you can try to find items that a wide array of people can or would use. In the past we have had a pair of military boots in there. Nice but not very many people have size 13 feet. Nort only was it bulky taking up lots of space, but a year on we finally pulled and donated them. That kind of item would be better to just have its own PIF thread.
D. I'm hoping we can make this fun again.
--Also, if you get the box be willing to drive at least halfway to meet the next person. That goes for both the getting and passing it on!

Hope this gets several so we can actually have a drawing this time and in the future!
