Am I alone in thinking this is just plain common sense?

Ever been to a pawn shop? BARS, caged front door, guns visible on a laptop and able to be seen in person upon asking. Cameras everywhere.

Cant even buy a $50 car radio at walmart without someone unlocking it for you.

But many of the gun stores I go into are EASY targets. I mean cmon, my garage is locked up tighter than half of them.

Its a REAL problem. 15 year olds ramming stolen kias though the front doors and emptying out the places. It might not be right, but its HAPPENING.

LOCK YOUR SHIT UP. Put bollards out front, maybe even some eco blocks on the sidewalk. Bars everywhere.

I mean fuck, the same shop will recommend you buy a vest with plates in it to protect your organs from gunfire, but WONT armor their store???? WTF?

If I owned a gun shop, I wouldnt need this stupid law to tell me to be a paranoid fucker and get my shit tightened up.

Geez

You've become far too comfortable with government scrutiny and invasion of your privacy and intrusion into your personal space.
Your 'common sense" smacks of victim blaming.
How many well hardened shops have been breached? Through, over, between bollards... or through the freaking side walls while alarms scream.

You want your conversations recorded? Do you wish to be on guard at all times hoping your words won't be misconstrued and used against you?
"No, no, I didn't say Comrade Inslee was a bad leader! NO!!! I'll do anything!!!" is just a short way off.
It happened throughout the last century and is happening in many countries today, so don't try to feed me the "you're being paranoid" shit. You're being complacent.

How about you/they take equal measure of effort to enforce current law, prosecute - not plea deal - meaningfully sentence and incarcerate actual criminals.

I was at a small strip mall recently and the walkways are now walled in with iron bars. This wasn't even for gun stores. Only ONE shop in the strip mall was still open. It looked and felt like a penitentiary.

No, I don't wish to live in a prison planet behind bars and under surveillance. CRIMINALS deserve that treatment.

What if they passed a law requiring you to pack a firearm at all times to protect yourself from harm?

I dont disagree with you on many point juk, but thats not the reality of whats happening in society.

Im not to keen on the audio part of it all, but I have home video that will store more than 90 days of footage. BUt hey,we are typing this on a computer that is saving it forever all while having a phone nearby that is listening to anything you say anyways. Voluntarily

The road to hell is paved with so-called good intentions.

The COVID jab was a seemingly well intentioned effort to get everyone jabbed, and they wanted to make it mandatory for everybody, and they tried really hard.

But even the Seattle Times disagreed with the law saying it placed onerous requirements on legal enterprises selling lawful items. Why don't we ever expend effort going after the bad guys? Like fentanyl getting in the country or millions of invaders entering our country? Why don't we have cameras on all the legislators going back two years?!? Or a log of all their phone calls or emails? Or all communications that go out of their offices? Or a record of all the lobbyists that meet with them I can view from a website?

It is a slap in the face. Why? Because of the slap on the wrist they are giving criminals.

If criminals got real sentences then they would think twice before committing some of these crimes. That would lessen the need for these measures.

But it's not just gun stores with these issues. Here in Renton I am seeing multiple businesses with the front bashed in and replaced with plywood. Nail salon, liquor store, subway, etc...

This is just another arrow in their quiver come reelection time. "See, see I'm hard on guns. I enacted a useless law that won't save any lives. I'm so hard on guns!"

Key word here is VOLUNTARILY
We can ditch all the electronic shit any time we damn well please, but if a private business is MANDATED BY LAW to do something to spy on their customers... we don't live in London or Moscow!

Fixed it for you.
There are plenty of republicans that should be fighting harder, but do just enough to make it 'look like they are trying' to garner the right's vote.

I loved that story.

Watched "V" a couple of nights ago. Was surprised it was allowed to be broadcasted.

Yes, I think you are alone….
Tell us how you would implement the required surveillance and how much it would cost for one camera for two years if you had a gun shop.

It’s not two years. It’s 90 days.
"Recordings shall be maintained for a minimum of two years for all recordings of areas where firearms are displayed and points of sale, and for a minimum of 45 days for all recordings of interior views of exterior doors, windows, and any other entries or exits:"
