The use case is to hold off shock untill emts arrive. For this the alum blankets work fine. Back country where higher aid is farther away, i'd upgrade to the "space" type blanket.

Not sure I'm getting the distinction on these. Could you provide links to both for comparison?

Pocket mylar https://www.makesafe.com/products/emerg ... et-84-x-52
Won"t fit in a pocket space blanket: https://arcturusgear.com/products/arctu ... x-82-green

Headlamp, trauma sometimrs happens in less than ideal light and you'll want handsfree light then.

One work around for this is to verbalize loudly "Do you want me to help you?"

I think he's talking about being sued for performing an intervention, even simple things like applying some gauze to a small laceration like is taught by the AHA or ARC.

And always get consent if they are conscious. Could be considered an assault if you touch someone and they didn't tell you it was ok...assuming they are conscious so no implied consent.
I've seen both types of the blankets you posted sold as "space" blankets because of the mylar. Some places are probably trying to show a difference other than saying, "heavy duty," but doesn't seem to be universal.

Agreed, i used the term too loosely. For vehicle carry, thrift shop wool blankets work as well. Multiuse.
