Gee, only an 11% increase. Tell me again how that's responsible?

You can look up your bill here: http://blue.kingcounty.com/Assessor/eRe ... fault.aspx

Ass raping - it is either taxes or the real thing when it comes to government.

Got hit pretty hard in Pierce County as well, with the county assessor calling it the perfect storm: http://www.king5.com/article/news/local ... -518103544

I looked up my taxes on the Pierce County Treasurer Site a week or two ago, mine ended up going up around $800, from ~3400 to ~4200...roughly a 24% increase in property taxes.

And of course, the two Sumner SD levies on the ballet for this past Tuesday just passed, got to make sure we can keep giving every student a laptop.

I wonder where that boundary line is drawn for the Sumner SD levy?? We live on the East side of Lake Tapps (NOT on the lake) and we're considered unincorporated Pierce county.....

Looks like you are just outside of it. Looks like it goes to Snag Island or so:

Are you also outside the Sound Transit RTA area? I'm just inside, by like 1/2 of a mile. :(

It's State wide. I am in Thurston County and my house went up in value $43,000 over the last 12 months with basically no exterior improvement, and my taxes went from $4,813 to a whopping $5,558!!! 15.5% INCREASE!!! WTF.

Just checked my old house in Seattle that I left 2 years ago. Property tax now $2500 higher than 2 years ago. Over $9000 this year.

Checked my new taxes on brand new 1400sqf house and 1400 sqf shop on 39 acres of forest land and 1 acre of buildable land in lewis county.
$1300 total property tax for the year on all property and buildings. Ahahahaha Ahahahahaha SUCK IT King county and Seattle.

One of the many reasons I left. I knew I couldn’t afford to retire if I stayed in Seattle.

Without doing a lot of searching and such, is there a quick way to see what you paid in prior years?

Mine is wrapped up in my mortgage payments. It seems like a fairly large figure on the state assessor page.

Search by your address to find your parcel, and that gives you the year by year breakdown.

I've looked on the assessor page and it only has current value/tax. Found the history - it's the taxes tab.

I don't see much of an increase other than natural property value increases. Maybe I'm outside any zones?

Mine was $4400 in 2012 and fluctuated down and up and down to a max of $5200 in 2016, then back down to $4800 in 2017, now up to $5600 in 2018. Nothing particularly alarming, seems to correspond to increases in property value. I don't see anything striking me as abnormal on a cursory look. House value has gone up radically in 5 years...

"The right of self defence is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any colour or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction." - St. George Tucker

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.
