I don't buy gas that often and before I do, I check MSN Gas and Gas Buddy to see where/who has the best prices and plan my travels accordingly.

So... WTF is with the prices? They seem to be going up faster than a bottle rocket. Did I miss the memo?

Didn't we invade some places to keep these prices down?

The major storms on the east coast shuttered a lot of refineries.

I wasn't aware that you filled up directly from the pipeline? Most people need the oil refined to a specific petroleum product that helps make vehicles go.

It's 3.79 a gallon now.

How and why the gas prices have changed is a joke.

The majority of oil refined in Washington state comes from Alaska, North Dakota, and Canada. A small percentage is from overseas. I'm not aware of any from the east coast because the first three sources are plentiful.

I paid 3.84/gal for 92 octane in my mustang this morning. It hurt a little, I liked the low gas prices for a bit.

I see this happen this time of year every year, I get asked the same questions you guys are asking while I'm delivering the fuel every year as well. The truth of it is, the oil companies look for any reason to raise prices this time of year, and keep it high during the vacation season.

This year the weather is used as a reason, last two years were refinery fires, etc, etc, etc. None of these things have a true impact on your fuel prices, you're just paying more is all.
