What transfer? Its a gift between family members. Give it to him. End of story.
Is what I told him but.......
I guess its a Guy thing...hes 18 and wants the rifle registered to him.
I had to buy the lower and build it before he can own it.
Rite of Passage into Manhood????
*Shrug*
Gift him the parts, let him build it...
'sense of accomplishment' and all... It will be HIS first gun, and HE 'made' it...
Yeah it is illegal in Wa for him to own the lower until its built into a Rifle.
I know...its Bullshit.
Cite? I know Federal law prevents purchasing of pistols and receivers until you're 21, but didn't know state law prevents private party transfer under 21...

Resident FFL said no when he wanted to buy the Jack...
Think because it wasn't a rifle yet?
This kind of legislation is what we get when we have politicians that think Constitution is when you cant take a shit.
Under federal law he can't BUY it from an FFL, but you should be able to transfer it private party. Pistol/Receiver. I'm not aware of any state law preventing him from owning a pistol/rifle/receiver if transferred via family.
I have been wrong before... but I don't believe shit that dealers say without proof, same goes for cops. Any legal advice you get at a gunshop or from a cop is highly suspect. lol.

You are correct...
Is why I had to buy and we had to build before the transfer....but if the State is going to raise thae age then????
If we transfer before they pass that portion of this shitstorm of legislation what will they want us to do with the evil thing.....will I have to transfer back or what...
Thinking its better left as it is.
Oh and with all this register talk.
I thought there wasn't a registry. Lest that's what they telling us.
Its a trap

Jim, there is no registry for long guns. So your son can go do a formal FFL transfer if it makes him feel better, but it’s only a federal background check — it’s unrelated to the state handgun registry.

Jim, when I ran you through the NICS ringer, there were no questions that required answers to specify the exact firearm (serial number) that you were purchasing. The only place that information is kept, is on the 4473.
My nephew just got his cpl last month and is currently sitting in pierce county facing 2nd degree assault and 2nd assullt dv because he followed his on and off girlfriend because she went to a store with her ex and he decided t pull his gun out and point it at them and put it to his head. He was born at 26 weeks so he is a little slow in the head, I did him he needs to not be with the girl because she's just playing games with him and that he shouldnt get a cpl because he needs to mature some more. Fuckin listen to me boy!!! I'm just glad no one got hurt
