Received a check from a mega corp today (invoiced them 3 1/2 weeks ago).
Only a few grand, but it's nice to know I'm getting paid without having to put too much more effort in.
Place is totally clusterfucked, must be 20 people involved in paying a single invoice.
Plus with all the carbon copying of emails to each other I'm amazed they actually get anything else done.
Plus they spend half their days in meetings.

Sounds like .Gov when I verked there.

Except- 3-1/2 weeks? If that is .Gov, they sure sped up a LOT.

Accepted an offer on Friday and submitted my letter of resignation today. What a great fucking feeling.

Not .gov, multinational mega corp that bought out one of my long time customers.
Usually when I do business with a large company, I deal with a a VP or other decision maker that handles everything as a single point of contact.
I just send them an invoice and have them handle it. Discretely.
These guys threw me into the AP Maze.

Ya, 3 1/2 weeks isn't bad. If I drop them as a customer, they will be hurting a lot more than I will.

Got my free PSE energy house survey late afternoon. Not a ton wrong, the guy was super sharp. Loved chatting it up with him. He agreed I should get some form of attic fan for the summer - get that damn hot air out of there. Suggested a seal for my crawl space cover - already done 30 minutes ago carpet back over. Got the complementary shower heads. BUT what was really cool - dude changed all my remaining bulbs over to correct LED's, no charge. Even the chandeliers! MADE my day!

Damn. That's pretty awesome. LED's have dropped in price so much, that it's not a big deal to swap all your lighting to LED...

The cool thing is, all those old lights that used 60+ Watts are now only using ~5-7W... You are using a tenth of the power you were using....

I have a feeling they're giving away LED's to hide rate increases.. Their output goes down, while prices go up, and you don't see it because your bill will go down slightly...

Congrats!

Last time I gave notice it felt great, walked in, said I'm out in 2 weeks and then went and had a beer.

When I was leaving my other job, it was somewhat sad as I enjoyed the company and people but needed the new role to move up.

Free Red Robin. Only decent thing about getting older is I get fed for free for about a week by taking advantage of all the free food promotions that companies offer.

President Trumps speech made my day. He sounded good, sounded strong and had good resolve. Not much showboating, and a lot of talk in line with his campaign promises.

That speech was great! Made my day, I'm not religious, but to see and hear a President say God more than once I think is a good thing. I also like the support he offered to L.E and Military

Definitely not a trump fan boy, but he's definitely growing on me.

There were more than 2. Don't expect it to be reported by anyone in the MSM except Fox.
