I've found that people in Israel often don't resemble the 'European Jew' archetype. A big slice of the population of Israel is those Sephardic Jews that were expelled from Spain and Portugal in the late 1400s, while nearly all American and Canadian Jews are Ashkenazi and trace their roots from Central Europe. They're pretty distinctive and, yeah, a lot of Israelis look kind of Spanish. If you saw her on the street in Madrid or Mexico City you wouldn't think she didn't belong.
