Big thanks to everyone who came. It was a good day.

Since we finished so early and with so little effort, it may have felt like we should have done more . . . but to be honest, I was glad that it turned out to be easy. Today was a hot day, and I was glad to avoid beating my ass into the ground. It was nice to have the afternoon available to do other things, too. thumbsup

It was fun just wish there was more we could have done.

After this event, my wife and I celebrated by wearing our matching WaGuns shirts to West Coast Armory (thanks for the swag). It was a little hard to shoot with sweat dripping in our eyes, but we had a lot of fun. I'd say it was a perfect day - some volunteer work, a range trip, then beer.

I'm surprised they let you shoot without sending the targets out in the bay like that

Seriously, though, nice shooting! :cheers2:

And thanks to both (actually, to everyone) for coming up from way the heck south to accomplish in two hours what would've taken me weeks to do!

I went over yesterday to do some deep soaking and check on everything. It looks amazing! The pic below is of Glenda Thomas' memorial plaque; she was killed when crushed between two cars, after serving just over five months on the force.

Hope the WSP Memorial is still looking good.

My wife likes to write, and this event inspired an article I thought I'd share here.

That's awesome that she was able to revive those plants! It was obvious they needed more care and love than they would have gotten in their current location.

And that talkative 9 year old? He still hasn't stopped talking.

Wow, Kelly is awesome. She did such good work and every day when I go over I appreciate her labour and dedication. Thank you Mark for sharing her work.

Totally a coincidence, but I had a brief meeting this morning with Geoff (Lt. Cmdr. Jacobson) and he commented again on how good the Memorial looks. He and Captain Ron Mead had the opportunity earlier this week to take several higher ranking officers--including the Chief--through the Memorial and the overwhelming sentiment was one of gratitude to those who just about two months ago took the time to get their hands dirty.

From his email to me today after the meeting: "...thank you and also thank you to your friends from [WaGuns] for everything you do in keeping up the Trooper's Memorial."

I'll try to get some new pictures with the new flags and Fall plantings in the next few days.
