Jim, that is the economy fix for erectile dysfunction. Not worth wasting on a set of scales

Messing with the scale ain't worth it - especially near the balance point.

If it is off weight by a couple of grains as a result of the fix. you are gonna set yourself up to have a really bad day with some reloads.

Unless this scale is for buying metals, and you can " put the thumb on the scale " for a discount on every purchase with the repair.

No, I'm not.

I'm thinking, "That's not a scale, dumbass! Scales have LCD readouts!"

JBWeld.

just make sure you get the exact same amount on both sides of the tipping point.

Then calibrate it anyway, by sanding off epoxy on whatever side is a grain or ten, heavier.

Just got the scale beam epoxied... If it holds up well, I don't expect too much trouble rebalancing it. :thumbsup2:

So we have a 115 pound puppy with 2 or 3 coats (layers?) of hair. Here is a picture of her being given a bath by a 105 pound woman. She is a real sweetheart. (The puppy I mean.)
Image
The hair is incredible in its volume, not sure what percentage of her weight is actually the hair.
The spousal unit has requested a furminator ( http://www.furminator.com/ ) ... Does anyone here have experience with the Furminator? Seems darned spendy for a dog comb, but it looks like a pretty fancy unit.

I have one for my Shepherd. It works better than any other brush I have used.

Also it's a sturdy built unit. Buy once, cry once. You will only ever need one.

Have a shrimpy G. Shepherd/Rottweiler mix (75ish pounds) and the C. Shepherd behemoth, still growing. That Furminator has filled bags and bags of hair, and we had brushed them out before. Big difference.

Starter motor mystery.
From a Toyota Forklift Model 02-3FD35, 6 cyl diesel Image
The forklift has 2 batteries in series for 24V, but the starter motor is marked 12V. Image
The diesel engine started and ran fine for several years and I have no reason to think that the motor or starter are a mismatch other than the 12V label. Maybe Toyota has a voltage splitter for starters? Doesn't make sense to me. With 24V available, any decent engineer would use the 24V for starting.
An internet search using the starter's data sticker number ( 128000-0210 ) pulls up a 12V 13 tooth replacement. Mine has 11 teeth.
The other numbers on the data sticker are 1CF20 3325, although the 1CF20 isn't perfectly clear even with a light on it.
Any thoughts from you mechanic fellows?

What's the question? Is the starter dead and you're trying to find the right replacement?

Yes. The 128000-0210 number on the sticker pulls up a 13 tooth replacement for an 11 tooth starter.

The 12V/24V is another anomaly.... I'm scratching the noggin.
