I don't see the up side to Russia and China defending Rocket Man, they have everything to lose and nothing to gain.

I was there for the alert. I had just dropped my rental car at the Honolulu Airport and was standing outside . The cell phone made a noise I had never heard before. It was a very weird 38 minutes. Hope to not do that again.

I can share some of it. My thoughts: After the alert sound- and it was the Armegeddon siren, I stared at the message on my phone ( same as in earlier posts) for a while. Re-read the “ This is not a drill” part several times. Experienced the Big Chill... The area I was in was mostly people heading to fly out. No panic, but lots of frightened looks. I was outside, and looked up for a while to see if I saw incoming exhaust trails. Nothing. Then I sort of went into an analytical mode. Still scared as hell, but that was compartmentalized somewhere. My work was at the airport and earlier in the week there had been several fighter scrambles ( HNL is joint use,if you are not familiar). My local contacts said this has been ramped up a lot since lil Kim has been acting out. So, no fighter launches and no air raid ( now nuke incoming) sirens. I started to think false alarm and decided to continue my GTFO plan. I went through the usual check in and security process- people were very subdued and focused on getting on the planes. The False Alarm text came well before my flight boarded and things went more or less as normal. The guy in the seat next to me was pretty shaken up. He said he was on the bus to the airport whe the alarm hit. The bus diverted to a warehouse and they sheltered for a few minutes before the all clear. The rest of my trip back home was pretty normal. Still feeling pretty weird. |

I was on Oahu with my girlfriend during this false alarm. A lot of people were more freaked out than us and it was a scary time for a lot of people on the islands. We did a little video of how we reacted and felt while trying to figure out how authentic the message was.
