Too much risk for a baffle or end cap strike. And proprietary ammunition?! As if .300 BLK isn't already expensive enough! This whole thing doesn't make sense. I think Mike nailed it...this was a PR stunt to give Franklin Armory some name recognition. The gun itself doesn't offer anything that an AR pistol can't offer except a higher price tag and some mental masturbation material.

Even after the initial "what is it?" hype dies off there's still the conversation about how accurate a barrel with no twist can be. Then the tactical operators will chime in with "sbr's are for cqb it doesn't need long range accuracy" which will start a whole other argument. All the while Franklin armory will just sit back and see dollar signs. Whoever thought of this is a genius. Who cares if the gun is worth a damn?

Publicity is publicity, and they will be raking in the dough.
Their PR guy deserves a raise.

Whoever thought of this is a genius. Who cares if the gun is worth a damn? I agree, it's a brilliant PR move. But PR hype eventually wears off, and then the product will have to stand on its merits. A gun that is 2x the cost of comparable alternatives, but has half the potential for accuracy, is probably not going to be a cash cow. Then again, the Mossberg Shockwave & Remington TAC-14 are just as gimmicky, but they're selling well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if Franklin Armory can actually cash in on the PR.

Big price difference there. Plus, both are (somewhat) usable.
