I looked at a Savage Stevens O/U in 28 gauge. Anyone have experiences with these? What I did like: The gun had a great feel and pointed well. Nice looking checkered walnut and blued finish. Good fit on metal to wood. Price is around $550 and includes 5 chock tubes. What I did not like: No automatic ejectors The gun did not break over quite enough to get the bottom shell out without forcing it. Was not stamped where it was made, or not in a location obvious enough to find it. |

Made in Westfield, Mass. They didn't have ejectors on some. Great shotguns, If you can get it cheap, clean the shell lifters and it should be OK to shoot... |

My biggest concern would be having to force the gun to get the bottom shell out. I would use it for skeet and upland bird so a quick reload isn't a huge issue. Do you think gunk in the shell lifters could contribute to the problem? The gun is new. |

New on the rack, didn't appear dirty but I didn't have my glasses either and I can't see up close anymore. |
