So with the RRA 2 stage trigger being on sale for $62, I wondering if I should (mostly) finish out my stripped lower.

I'm thinking about getting the JP LPK (minus FCG) from RA for $38.

I shouldn't really need to worry about buffer tube and stock yet, correct? I'm tring to do a lightweight build, so i'll eventually swap out the grip, and maybe wait and see what comes down the pike with lightweight stocks, otherwise the MFT Minimalist stock has my eye. I also don't really want to think about Milspec or commercial tube, number of positions, endplate, etc. just yet.

Sure seems like buffer tube assemblies and stocks are bit more spendy than I thought.

I'm am very pleased with the bcm buffer tube and stock kit. I found mine for $95 a few weeks ago. Very light and very strong. Check them out.

:plusone: on the BCM stock kit.

I paid $65 out the door the other day at my LGS for the BCM mil-spec buffer kit (tube, spring, carbine buffer, castle nut, and end plate). I think you can find them on Gunbroker for about the same price. I used it to replaced the PSA buffer kit I had on my main AR because the finish was all worn off, and I think the stock position holes were cut too small because the stock would slip out of position sometimes. With the BCM tube, the stock doesn't so much as even wiggle now. :thumbsup2:

The quality of BCM is superior to anything else I've seen. The buffer tube is beautifully made with what looks like microslick on the inside of the tube. Real deal. Why buy junk for such an integral piece of a rifle?
looks like the price went up a little...

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=486727217

$51.34 + $8.99 shipping

This seller also allows you to combine other items you buy from him on Gunbroker for the same flat shipping rate of $8.99, so you could buy PMAGs and other AR parts and take advantage of the savings that way. :thumbsup2:

looks like it comes with carbine buffer and spring, and a non-QD end plate. I'd probably swap those since I'm looking for something mid or intermediate length, so not sure it is worth the cost.

Mine came with a qd endplate. If you order from BCM you can choose a heavier buffer also.

And here I was thinking, "How does one do a melt job on an AR lower?"

Exactly! I was thinking the same thing he was at first. How do you melt or round off the edges anymore than they already are and why? Then I actually read the post and was like oh... :facepalm2:
