Coming to the Puyallup WAC show October 31 and November 1:

Pardon the shitty photo quality; someone else sent it to me and I can't make it better.

Other than potentially waiting in a horrible line (which may not be the case anymore, but used to be), getting an Oregon CHL doesn't get any easier than this. It's nice that they're offering renewals, too!

Here's some more info on the sheriff's website, including the ready-made reference letter:
http://www.co.columbia.or.us/sheriff/in ... &Itemid=53

EDIT:

Attached is a "compelling need" letter, courtesy of Bill Starks (thanks!). You'll need to be logged in to download it.

Why does this always have to happen during hunting season (opening of Eastside elk this time) . . .? ?

I need to do this. Did I see a while ago that there is an on-line option for the required formal training?

Thank you! Is there a new link for the Compelling Reason Form Letter? That link doesn't work.

Do your references have to be local to WA, or OR?

thank you,
Michael J.

I'll try and look into it unless someone else can chime in.

as far as reference I used both, but do know some that use just WA residents only and no problems.

And sorry, I can't find a working link to the compelling letter . . . but basically, just write that you travel to Oregon regularly and would like to be able to carry a concealed handgun. Throw in some details if you have them about where you go, or whatever.

Hey... I resemble that remark.. Lol

Man since you got that nice camera... Photo snob... lol

As for letter - focus on how you travel via Columbia County when you go to Oregon (eg camping, visiting friends, family and other business). Remember Longview is just across the river on Washington side so it's a natural "course" of travel to some.
