My favorite 22 is the 9422 XTR, plenty accurate.

:plusone: Winchester 9422 has to be one of the slickest 22LR rifles ever. They are spendy on the used market for sure. LGS has one on the rack right now but it's hard to justify spending a full grand on one at the moment.

I'm eventually planning to pick up a left handed Anschutz 1416L D HB model for silhouette matches in the next year or two:
http://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/index.php5?produktID=938&menu=106&sprache=1&produktShow=detail

Used to have a Browning T-Bolt 22LR left hand. While it was a great shooter the trigger was pretty limiting for silhouette shooting purposes and was not adjustable or replaceable with an aftermarket trigger. So that one's gone down the road now. As far as scope, I have an old Leupold 6.5-20 x 40mm AO that I'll mount up when I get around to purchasing the new rifle. Burris also makes some really nice scopes popular with the silhouette crowd.

Nice. I bought my 9422 XTR, new in 1989 or so. I think it was around $300. I have the receipt buried in the gun files.

That's a keeper for sure. Used ones go for nearly 4x that much on GunBroker now. The Marlin 52 is also a fine 22LR lever gun but just not quite as nice IMO.

But then what would we talk about?

I've got a friend of a friend selling an Anschutz MPR that I'll probably buy. I've got another friend that wants to blow like $6k on a .22lr. so I was curious what you guys would come up with.

Champion's Choice is a great source for Anschutz rifles in case you want to check prices. Check out a local Silhouette match (Tacoma Sportsman's or Pe Ell) and you'll see a really wide variety from the classic CZ 452/455 which is a great entry rifle and also lots of Anchutz in various grades. Not unheard of for some of the regular competitors to sport Anschutz sporting rifles costing $3000 and up (though it's not necessary to spend nearly in that neighborhood to be competitive).

I prefer the Browning BL22 over the 9422, much shorter through and very precise action.

Gold standard of .22lr accuracy is the Anshutz 54 action. Fortners are expensive, but not out shooting the 54s as far as I know.

You can get 85% of the accuracy for 15% of the cost with a good CZ 452 or 455 BTW.

Let's go ahead and mark fully-automatic weapons off the list. That's way too much hassle.

Is this guy full-auto?

This looks bad-ass. Not full-auto so it can ship to my door.

On a more serious note, Ruger came out with a .22LR Precision.

I have a CZ 452 Lefty bolt that shoots better than i can hold with decent ammo. Wood & metal are beautiful. Rings & mags are a bit spendy but a fine rifle all the way around.

I have seen a video of a full auto one on youtube, however all the others that were made by Tippmann/Lakeside Machine were semi auto. its a shame that the company that made those mini 1919a4's closed its doors. They were already expensive enough, now if your lucky to find one for sale they will probably sell for north of 7K.
