I have a Canik and the base fills the slide cutout so I bet it would not be an issue for me.

That is really interesting you run one on a Scorpion. Sure would cleanup the view with such a small Red dot.

How is the dot at Rifle lengths? how tall is your riser? I run a Vortex Sparc II on my Scorpion SBR and it's pretty good, but i am curious about the Venom on the same.

Mine is on a Scorpion pistol with a blade brace. Not running a riser (just the red dot on top of the thumb screw mount). It almost Co witnesses with the factory sights. If you’re ever out in the Hoodsport area let me know. I’ll let you try it out.

The sparc II would be a cool choice

Following up on this thread. The wheels turn slowly in our house on new purchases as money is pretty tight most of the year and we've had a lot of unanticipated big expenses along the way.

Finally purchased a Vortex Venom 6 MOA red dot and it's now mounted on the Browning Buckmark. It was backordered from manufacturer for months and when they arrived in stock last week snapped one up. Just mounted it on the gun this Friday.

Thanks to everyone for advice on specific red dot sights, dot size, durability/fragility of the glass, and accessories. Greatly appreciated.

Look forward to getting to SCSA match next month when the summer weather starts to cool a bit here finally. I'll post a follow-up when have the chance to use the pistol and red dot outdoors to see how the 6 MOA dot performs in our super bright TX sunshine.

Need to do a bit of dryfire practice bring up the pistol in presentation to make sure I can get a consistent sight picture. My natural tendency is to want to bring the front sight into the red dot window which aligns the pistol too high to view the dot. A bit of dry fire presentation will fix that
