Government contract silencers:

CIA Integral Ruger MK1 pistol. Manufactured for them in 1950.

If you look closely you will notice that not a single marking is on the entire pistol. Not even the standard Ruger markings all over the receiver. No serial either.

Overview of the pistol.
Image

Business end of the pistol.
Image

Opened up the end cap loose (hasn't been opened in at least 25 years).
Image

Layout of the extremely basic washer and spacers. Stainless steel and crudely machined(sharp edges and alot of tool marks).
Image

Overview of the pistol disassembled.
Image

The pistol was pulled from service because it was so loud, all the others were re-cored and are now notably quieter. This was the only one that was not re-cored. Even though it hasn't been shot in years it sounded decent but nothing compared to the thread-on or integrals we have now.

Nice piece of history to get to play with. Now if I could only acquire this for my collection.

Misc/ form 1

I'll start with the form 1 silencers:
A form 1 (5320.1) silencer is a homemade silencer. It is legal to make your own silencer but the form 1 HAS to be approved by the ATF and returned to you BEFORE you can make it.

Form 1 .22 with description of materials used:
All aluminum is 7068 (yes 7068) and blast baffle is 316 SS
OAL is 7" , OD is 1.125" , tube ID is 1.000".
Tube is 6" , ID bored to match OD , wall thickness is .0625" +or- .0007"
The caps are threaded with 28 TPI and .375" thread length and bored out to add more volume , it uses 7 baffles , 6 K-baffles (5 aluminum and one 316 SS) and one coned washer on top of last K.
The 1/2x28 threads were cut while on the finished can and was indicated off the bore via 6" range rod
The baffles have .050" thick skirts , .062" thick necks and .062" thick faces , the baffle face has a .110" tall cone leading into the bore. The baffles are .996" in OD and have a tight-ish .25" bore that was bored concertic with the OD one baffle at a time (i had run into bore alignment issues one just deep drilling a bar and cutting baffles off of that)
For those not framiliar with 7068 Aluminum , it is exceptionaly strong and hard. I think this will make a better suppressor than 7075 and certainly better than 6061
6061 T6 , yield=35,000psi , Hardness=95 Brinell
7075 T6 , yield=68,000psi , Hardness=150 Brinell
7068 T6 , Yield=97,000psi , Hardness=190 Brinell

I really have no idea who makes this:

Any chance you can get pics of the Liberty Essence and Infiniti?

Good pic's and some ideas for a Form 1 but the big question, "Which one works best"?????

Those that require a CNC on LSD or just the simple "Freeze Plug Baffle" design?

the omega baffle works very well but you should ask swr's permission since its been patented by them also the monocors that liberty suppressors do are great. it really depends on what you want to make the can for. some designs work gret on certain calibers while the same design works horrible on another.
