Hey guys, i just bought my first silencer this week (ti-rant 9m) from west coast armory in Bellevue. I thought the current wait times were 9-12 months, but the guy at the shop said that more realistically it will be 2-3 YEARS. He said due the the massive influx of forms in July right before 41f took effect, that the wait times on nfa tracker aren't realistic. Im hoping he is wrong, but what are your thoughts on this? is he right?

Pre-41F submissions should be wrapped up in a few more months. Submissions after 41F dropped off dramatically so in theory, wait times should be dropping off once the glut of pre-41F paperwork has cleared.

I would like to think that your dude is smoking crack. We are just now going to start to see and feel the slow down effects of the pre-41p rush. I think a 9-12 month wait is still appropriate, but probably be less once the hump is over in a couple months.

I would expect a rapid decline in wait times once the pre-41f applications are processed. Hard to tell what's going to happen though with the fed hiring freeze and such. The ATF could end up reassigning NFA employees or they could get fired.

My June 2nd form 4 just came back, that was getting towards 41P/F so that's encouraging. Especially since very early July Form 1's aren't back (for me anyway.)
I have another Form 4 submitted 2 weeks later, it will be interesting to see how much longer that one takes.

The shortest I've seen in the past year was either 6 or 7 months, the longest is one that is at about 12 right now. The longest I've ever known for sure about was 13 months.
