A quick comparison between me and Cory at the IDPA Match on 07/27/13. We are both classified as Sharpshooters. He is shooting a G17 and I'm shooting a XD9.
This is Stage 4 and you had to shoot the 3 targets in front with 2 rounds each in Tactical Sequence.Tactical Sequence means each target has to be engaged once before engaging the second time.
After engaging the 3 targets you ran to the wall, there were 4 more targets behind the wall. Each of those 4 targets required 2 shots each.
That was pretty cool, Damon! You both ran through it pretty much the same way (yeah, I know there aren't a lot of options), with all of the same movements.
I, too, am disappointed that you let Cory beat you . . . especially with a Glock.

Damon, helps us analyze/learn from this excellent oppty. Your draw looks to me about .5 second faster than his, but everything else seems real close (Well, maybe your reload was a tad faster?). He was down 7, which means his time was 12.2? You were down 2, so that means your time was 12.89, right? Conclusion, your better accuracy on this stage was the difference. Am I right? Are there other lessons to learn from the vid?

He is a member here. But rarely comes on and posts. We will both be at WCA tonight.

Yeah, my draw and 1st shot was a little faster. I think he shot the 4 targets behind the wall a little faster. We started at opposite sides on the first 3 targets, I started on the far right, he started on the far left. But I don't think that made any real difference.
As we know, when the time is about the same, the most accurate will win. But there is a point somewhere when speed is enough to over come accuracy. But that has to be when there enough stages and a high enough round count. The trick is figuring out those exact parameters. Cory beat me in the match by 12 seconds and he had more points down. He had 60 points down and I 48...

I won this stage but he won the match over me...
