Way back when WAC imposed the $200 limit it was to avoid having to collect tax data from every vendor for the city and state... The state is looking for more money so they are looking at who they can get some from... I already pay my taxes every quarter for my show sales I would really like to know what effect this new business trackng is going to have on what I already pay?

As far as casinos go.. That is a very vague area! The firearm laws on reservation lands are different.
The Wes Knodel shows would still be going if it wasnt for ONE tribal director saying NO causing all future shows to be cancelled. With no reason! It sucked because the show was just starting to get good...

Kinda glad I didn't renew my WAC membership! They're done if we are interpreting the changes correctly. Ridiculous.

Although it does represent a sucessful business case if one can make it work . . . .

Actually the Little Creek Shows were cancelled because Wes did not want to have an open bar or pay for a bar tender. As a rational human being, he did not want to mix firearms and drinking. The Casino objected to his rational thought, and cancelled furthur shows. They were stupid to do this, because they lost alot of revenue. We only used the building on weekends when they did not have events scheduled...

With the new requirements, I am done with WAC.
Wait and watch, to have more than 2 tables per year....
1 business license. will this expand to a business license for the city of Puyallup also?
2 collect and report tax.
I see a bad thing here. You are a hobbist collector who now is required to have a business license. BUT you occassionally sell a GUN. OOPS, you are a business selling a gun without a Wa State firearms license! That will be the next requirement. Now add to that the added................. no never mind,.......... my head is starting to hurt......The agony of it is more than I can bear. I think I will just let my membership lapse and go to the other shows.

I think the Reservation Gun Show idea is a good one. We could give the finger to the State and still have our old fashioned guns shows.

Don't the Puyallup, Tulalip and Muckleshoot tribes have a consortium? I know they are working on getting a distribution system in place for Alcohol, they already sell tobacco ..now they just need to add Firearms.... :thumbsup2:

They Do Tinny,
But they have sold out to the Man...In order to placate the Whites, they have bowed to pressure and squandered what AIM won for them in the 70's..They charge tax and pretty much pissed away their sovereignty...Working with them is like working with a part of the State .GOV..

Reservations pay no gas tax, no liquor tax and who knows what else, probably no cigarette tax either.

Thank Gregwhore for that.

If you are forced to collect and remit tax to the State, the tax amount is determined by the location where goods and services were sold. If you were to report taxes collected in Puyallup through the State online Sales Tax reporting system, the "local tax", and you didn't have a required local business license you'll a notice in the mail to get one.

I just finished reporting last month's sales and Tax collections for my Son's business. He gets these notices from time to time as he provides his services in a City that does require local business licenses in addition to the State License. Not all do have local license requirements.

Those that do are kind of pissy about you doing business in their city without one. Hard to escape with the State tattling on you when you file your return. What's also pissy is that you get to do all the collection and paperwork for free. No reimbursement for your time from the State.

For what it's worth, there's probably no way to escape as time goes on. The State just raked our gun club over the coals on Sales tax. I now have to pay sales tax on my Membership. Why? Because I get free range time as a member and THAT is taxable as far as the State is concerned.

I wonder if I'll be alive when the "Second American Revolution" occurs. Might have to stick around longer cause I'm ready to see that happen.

I found what I wanted to quote:
http://washingtonstatewire.com/blog/gregoires-gas-tax-deals-with-indian-tribes-dealt-major-blow-by-state-supreme-court/
Quote:
Starting in 2007, the governor’s office began making deals with tribes that give them a big cut of the gas taxes from fuel sold at tribally-owned gas stations – worth $28 million in 2010 and rising every year.
