:ROFLMAO:

Well, now that you are buying HER an AR-15, I think you deserve another rifle of your own!

Samco Global is having an October sale with free shipping, a free sling and a free muzzle cover for the K31 rifles:
https://www.samcoglobal.com/1-k31.html

Don't be distracted by the "sold out" signs, those are just for specific grades. The grades shown with prices are still available.

The K31 is a very different animal than the K98k, so don't let that "just another bolt action" argument get in the way.

You DO have your C&R license, don't you?!

No, not yet but I should.

To be honest, the biggest thing stopping me was the desire to not buy another type of ammunition. 38, 9mm, 45, 8x57, 11x60, and now 223/5.56. It is getting confusing. If a fire ever happens and gets through to my safe I'm afraid this will happen. Well, the wife is.

Thanks, not familiar with how this bbs works. The site I write for uses a different system, you pick the video from a dropdown and just paste it in.

But yeah, my wife thinks this will happen if we have a fire.

Yup, that's the typical opinion. Here's an awesome YouTube video that illustrates exactly what happens to ammunition in a fire; it's extremely informative, but it broke my heart to see all of that precious ammo get burned up. :crybaby:

Watching this will be 25 minutes well-spent:

I'll allay that ammo problem
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AMM-941

Also, the swiss still use GP11 ammo (which is good for the K31 ONLY, pressure too high for the older rifles) in their heavy machine guns so it's still being made, someplace
[edit: GP11 is good in the K11 rifle, see below]
Besides, all the cool kids are getting one.... You don't want to be a square, do you?

I just dropped $950 on that Colt Sporter I posted in the 'Welcome FNG' forum. My promised (lied) that I wouldn't buy another gun for a long long time.

I had better wait at least a little while (like after Christmas) before I piss her off again.

The GP11 Ammo is also good to shoot in the K11. I have one and it is a dream to shoot. I have thought of selling it to fund other projects but just can't bring my self to.

Whoops, you are right, its the older rifles that aren't robust enough to handle the gp11 round

Scope mounted, can't see it from the angle but the scope is on an offset mount.

Finally got the scoped k31 out to the range today and after trying to zero the rifle looking at a target in MOA units with a scope in mills units, (that took a while!) I finally got settled in. The K31 did not disappoint. I'm still a rifle noob so it took a while to get myself really used to the trigger.

Two groups in the slightly larger than 1" size... at 200 yards!
~1/2 MOA on a $350 gun with $300 scope using milsurp ammo.
I'll take it.

It did take me a while to get settled down to that level of precision. For a while there I looked like Stevie Wonder on full auto.
