My buddy has the 2011, double stack version of this gun and with some new Cylinder & Slide parts and work done by Fred at CaR arms, it's an amazing gun for the little amount of money it costs.

It shot great.

Way more accurate than I was.

The magazine is little finicky though. Sometimes the mag would stick, other times it wouldn't hold the slide back on the last round and I'd be able to run the slide on an empty mag. Would want some Wilsons.

Now if they only had one in .45 at that price...

That is exactly what Sergey of Precise Shooter said.

Very nice! Solid pickup. :thumbsup2:

At that price, I'd be interested in buying one, but not from Precise Shooter. I'd go into a gun fight with a knife before I ever bought a gun from that guy.

Now, to find one like yours with a threaded barrel...

I really think RIA could corner the market on affordable 1911s in .45 if they did that, considering all the features yours has. I'd be the first in line. :meme:

Oh, they do offer them in .45 but not for the same price as the 9mm. I believe its typically $50 or so more.

That's good to know. Guess I didn't look carefully. Thought they were around 150 bucks more, or so. By no means an exhaustive search, but Tombstone has them listed for 592 and a dealer on Guns America wants 719... :gibbs:

Suppose it's all about looking hard enough to find the right deal.

That's what I did!

First time I inquired about the 9mm TAC II I was quoted $599+tax.
