Finally got around to putting my AR-10 lower to use. I think it turned out well. Unfortunately I'm having quite a few issues with it and will have to send a few of the parts back to Aero.

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.

Interested in info on the upper. Especially the front sight and the handguard. Also, did you build that upper or buy a complete upper?
Thanks man! The handguard is a PRI DPMS Delta III Carbon Fiber Rifle Length Forearm. They usually run about $350 + tax. The weight savings seem decent enough! The FSB/gas block is a Yankee Hill Machine part number #YHM-9395. I bought the M5 completed upper receiver which just had the dust cover and forward assist already installed, barrel and gas system was assembled by me.

Thank you! I took aesthetic cues from a friend that built a similar rifle and his original goal was to make it look like an FAL

You are absolutely right, I just looked up that rifle and it does look very similar.

Sweet, can you tell me what length barrel and hand-guard that is?

The Barrel is Aero's 20" .308 .750 profile barrel, Handguard is 12.75" but its only designated "Rifle Length" on their website.

Built my very first AR using a PRI handguard. This was back when carbon fiber was still heavy as shit. PRI is still making heavy carbon fiber handguards.

Thanks man! Either the barrel or the upper receiver is completely out of alignment. When the two parts are mated to each other the muzzle is about 1/4"-3/8" to the right, off center. I checked, rechecked, and checked again before assembling everything to make sure everything looked good before throwing the parts together. No obstructions where the barrel sits, barrel nut went on fine, threads matched up and everything. When looking down the rails on the upper receiver there seems to be a slight bend. I don't really know how to fix it, it seems quite a bit off for anything I'd be comfortable working on. I already e-mailed Aero, just waiting to hear back.

If Aero tell's me to kick rocks, that's exactly what I am going to do. Figured I'd see what they say first.

I agree with you, I was looking at the G28 muzzle device in the picture here as well!
