A video from the store’s security system shows the victim shopping with at least three children. According to the affidavit, the video shows some of the children move out of view as a man is seen coming over, picking up a metal tee-ball bat from a rack and striking the other man in the shoulder with it.

The victim, who police said has had a concealed pistol license since March 2013, then pulled a .357 Sig Sauer pistol from a holster and pointed it at the suspect, the affidavit said.

He should have just laid down and peed himself. No need to threaten the guy with a gun.. That's just escalating things so they get violent.

Yep, like this dumbass:

The T-Ball bats are sized and weighted for a 3 year old kid. He is going to shoot him for swinging a light weight toy light enough for a 3 year old to hold and swing?

Why not just grab it ?

:facepalm2:
Tball bats are between 10-14 oz, 21 to 25" long, and made out of Aluminum.
I'll give this guy the same spiel I give to people who say .22lr won't stop someone.
"Ok, then let me [hit] you with one."
....Bet he wouldn't let me.

Always stay alert, carrying openly or not. Which I know can be hard for us sometimes with (in my case atleast) kids. My two boys are 5 and 2 so they can be a handful sometimes when shopping.

But hell I see soooo many people that are oblivious to wtf is going on around them.

Stay alert and stay safe.

No proof he was attacked because he was OCing.

No proof he wasn't, either. :peep:

Good for him. This definitely qualifies as "Why We Carry"!

I don't know if OC was the reason for the assault, but I strongly suspect that it is.
I don't OC myself, but am glad that it's still legal.

I think this line pretty much sums it all up:

Quote:
Well-trained gun owners instead preferring to carry concealed so as to maintain anonymity so that they don’t stand out as a target for criminals and retain the tactical advantage of being armed, but not visibly so.

I don't know anyone that has had more than a few classes that still OCs.

Apparently someone at the Yakima Herald didn't like the attention this story got. All I could get from the link is that the page had been moved or removed.

Regardless, from what was reposted here, maybe the guy should have waited until the perp started to pull back to swing again then draw and just put him out of society's misery. Sure would put an end to his trips through the revolving door of our justice system.
