Citizen takes down gunman after shooting in Skyway
Quote:
Police say an armed citizen helped arrest a man who shot another man late Saturday in the Skyway neighborhood south of Seattle.

King County Sheriff's Sgt. John Urquhart said the victim was shot just after 9 p.m. during an argument in the parking lot of the US Bank branch at 12610 76th Ave. S.

A man not involved in the dispute who was using the ATM at the bank pulled out his own gun and pointed it at the shooter, Urquhart said.

I was watching the news last night when this was happening. Did you see/hear the part about the guy carrying handcuffs? Also, they showed the police checking a gun and it was clearly a .22 target pistol. wonder if that was what the shooter used, or just something in the guys car? Very interesting indeed.

yup this is why we need to dis-arm (SIC) the public just think if that guy would not of had a gun A.) he could have been shot too B.) the shooter would have been free to go kill/try to kill someone else yup i belive that only cops and gang banggers should have guns :-q

patriot great job man not sure why you had the cuffs but great job luxhello

One of the comments in the Komo news story did make a good point about the cuffs and how things would have gone very differently if the "citizen" was only holding the guy at gunpoint when the cops arrived. Having cuffs does make one wonder though. Seems he was going beyond carrying to protect himself? I thought the lesson was "If you draw, be prepared to shoot"? Not Draw, then throw a guy a pair of cuffs or worse, get in close to put them on yourself.

The armed citizen could have been trained and/or experienced with cuffing a bad guy - do have to do that all the time without a backup.

Wire ties are easier to carry than cuffs, though I'm not sure they're easier to put on.
