Looks like 9 states in the SE USA are looking to enter into an very powerful pro-gun sancutary state agreement. It is exempting itself from many federal laws and regulations, including the commerce clause. Very interesting. A pretty quick read. I'm watching with interest to see if this works! The states are Mississippi, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, Louisiana, W. Virginia, Kentucky, Arkansas, & Georgia. https://legiscan.com/MS/text/HB753/2020 ... VyY78xDItY

Interesting idea. The best is that if their defense is "santuary laws are illegal" there go all of their stupid sanctuary cities.
The Ds have to tread carefully on this one..

I don't state this to stir any animosity, but Idaho did something along these lines on its own in 2014, with legislation that bans any new federal gun control laws from being enforced by the state, and not long ago forming an entirely "sanctuary" state. Some other states have gone mostly or entirely 2A sanctuary. I think this is a fast growing countermeasure against gun control. In a recent thread, I tried to bring this up but was poo-poo'd by someone. Here's a map, which might be under-representative. Green is sanctuary. Washington is about 1/2 sanctuary, Oregon maybe 1/3rd as well.

For Texas that map is pretty much exactly the opposite of what I would have expected. Which leads me to another thought. The green on this map... Is pretty close to the blue on the map of red and blue counties. I wonder if the green counties are green, simply because the REAL Texans in those counties have been woken up to this vote, by all the dems that have moved in...

Might have to learn to adjust to the humidity and labor market in the south. On the plus side houses are cheap. More money for guns?

Kansas did something similar a few years ago, exempting its' citizens from provisions of the NFA and other federal firearm restrictions. Guess what happened? Folks started manufacturing and distributing federally restricted firearms. Other people started buying them. All perfectly legal according to the "new" Kansas law. Said so in black and white. Guess who all got busted and sent to prison and or fined for violating FEDERAL law? Hmm? What's the word I'm looking for? Preemption? Fucked? I dunno? Good luck, I don't see how they are going to get around certain federal restrictions. Also noticed that a part of this proposal is that if the feds do come after you in one of these member states, the attorneys general are the ones that will defend you against them. You know how well that would go in Washington!

I don't think this is representative. The entire state of Missouri is a sanctuary like state, like Can't say.

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.
