Quote: In a crucial move, Maureen Walsh, R- Walla Wall, changed her mind after much deliberation. She said guns were a “way of life” in Eastern Washington.

Quote: Hope, a Seattle police officer, had expressed concern that criminals have been bypassing the current system of background checks and acquiring guns through private transactions. He said the proposal won’t stop gun violence but would make it harder for criminals to get weapons. http://seattle.cbslocal.com/2013/03/13/ ... ate-house/Gentle reminder: Mike Hope still remains a steaming POS.

Apparently hope doesn't listen to the news when king 5 did that report on gun laws not working or stoping criminals from getting guns. They don't buy them they steal them.

Looks as if it may not pass. they did not receive the 50 votes needed again Tuesday. It is now Wednesday and they have to have them by 5pm. As far as I can tell it will not and should not pass at this point in time due to not having enough votes. If it does pass then someone did something illegal. <- as if that has not happened before lol.

I support universal background checks, but not the way that mangled piece of crap called a bill described the process. So I am very happy.

Thank you, Steble01 for sending me here.
It's still a very hard fight to pass this bill at the federal level. Still a possibility, but hard to pass.

What about the fed level? DC is poll driven. There are people right here on this forum that think polls outweigh principles and Constitutional rights so, it will probably pass in some form at the Fed level IMHO.
