OFF TOPIC: Did your bird happen to have any inkling of whether HB 2164 (providing exemptions to 594) would get a hearing or not? Because right now it's looking like Jenkins won't even allow it to be heard, even though it has 40+ sponsors.

It's a hostage and will die along with 1857. Gotta love texting.

It's not really hostage, that implies a trade. My guess is if this was passed Jenkins would reneg on the other bill because she is dishonest. Even if she didn't and it passed out of committee I doubt the 594 bill would get 2/3 vote.

She is playing games, you are correct, but the result is the same. None of the bills that are anti-gun or pro-gun in the Judiciary Committee will be headed to the governor. You can thank our friends who stormed the gallery with weapons out in part for her impasse.

I remember a similar birdie who told me the WA GOP would not pass a law to give illegal aliens in-state tuition. Then it happened.

Don't take anything for granted. One of the GOP aides I spoke with told me I shouldn't "waste" my time calling the republicans on the committee. When I pointed out how many of those RINOs voted for the "WA Dream ACT" she got nasty and hung up.

Common tactic to stifle opposition. "It'll die! Don't worry about it..."

This is coming from a very pro gun representative. You are welcome to think what you want though.

If Jinkins is behaving like a petulant child, then I'll lay the blame on one person and one person only: Jinkins. Given her record as an anti-gun zealot, could a reasonable person really conclude that her actions would be any different if that whole scene hadn't happened? C'mon...

The Queen simply doesn't like the serfs. Nothing will change that.

Edited to fix spelling of proper noun.

I'm really disliking Jinkins and Pedersen.

Here is the committee hearing on HB 1857.

It's the first bill so take a few minutes to watch it. Interesting testimony.

There was also HB 1713 which related to firearms. I think that one passed out of committee unfortunately. The problem with that one is it creates a new prohibitor for firearms ownership that is vague and undefined.

But they were just practicing their freedom and we shouldn't stifle their expression and need to embrace them as fellow gun rights supporters!
