solyanik wrote: So on this thread we clearly see who is genuinely interested in firearms, and who is just a Republican ideologue who uses firearms to advance the party line. Yes, Seattle is a liberal city, and yes, we cater to liberal clientele. The first attempt to shut down my store came from a Republican. I594 was endorsed by a former Republican Governor and a Republican King County Prosecutor.
So if you want to just hew the party line - go back to your bitching on the Internet, just don't stand in the way of people who are actually working. If you want to actually create change - work with us. This includes getting as many people in our camp - from all walks of life.
Lead, follow, or get the fuck out of the way. Sure. One prosecutor in the state... in THE MOST liberal County in the state endorsed it.... And oneRepublican Gov from 30 years ago....... and it was the Republicans out to get YOU! Never mind the 250,000 Anti-Gun supporters who endorsed the inititive by signing it. Never mind the Seattle City Council that fully endorsed it. Never mind the MILLIONS of dollars your former bosses gave that cause. It was the Republicans. And .... Never mind the other hundreds of gun stores in the state that this affected....it was all about shutting down your store. This is by far the most stupid generalization I have ever heard. You bitch about people "hew the party line", and you directly, and intentionally launch an attack the most likely group of people to support you trying to stay in business. Either you are very daring, very cunning, or very stupid.

Well, you can consider me really stupid - just like all other liberals :-). I suppose I will have to take, as a consolation, that BillG and Warren Buffett are in the same camp, too. Maybe some amount of gold will even rub off of me.
Or, alternatively, you might actually read what I write and understand it. And what I keep saying is treating guns as a Republican thing and demonizing liberals is the best way to get rid of the gun rights. By doing this, you are automatically pissing off 1/2 of the electorate, and the other 1/2 is not 100% with you, either. And in democratic societies you do need majority of the people to agree with you to advance your goals.

Left leaning politicians and constituents want to tax a left leaning owned business that is generally seen as right wing whacko oriented, out of existence...ain't that somethin'
I wish I had a dog in this fight, that I could be heard Soly...because maybe you and I aren't exchanging Christmas cards but I DO OPPOSE what they are doing. It isn't right, fair or likely legal. But that doesn't mean it won't get rammed down your throat.
Welcome to the dark side...

Well Soly, simplistically put, you are definitely not winning over a majority of gun owners to your view point.
Especially the idea that gun ownership is a Republican viewpoint.
And, the only one saying that demonizing liberals will eliminate gun ownership so far on this forum - seems to be you.
As for the rest, well, I refer to my previous post regarding leadership.
Along with another one of your pearls of wisdom quoted below.
"And in democratic societies you do need majority of the people to agree with you to advance your goals."
So far, you aren't exactly batting a thousand with the conservative Liberals, or the centrists, libertarians, constitutionalists, or the Republicans.
THAT - is a lot of gun oriented people. Not all Republican.
Last try here - it is NOT about Left versus Right.
Old saying - " You can catch a whole lot more flies with honey, than with vinegar. "

I just never shop in Seattle anyway, now for sure I/this will just encourage more to not buy guns in Seattle......some few Liberals are pro-2nd, but the vast majority hate guns. THAT is a fact.

Sinus211, the only reason for your commenting here is because I asked you to not come to my store after you lied about my support for I594, and then lied about experience you had in my store (for which I have a security camera recording). You are so full of ethics, it is literally coming out of your ears on this one... Please don't try to pretend being a good guy here... Oh Sergey, I know I'm just a part of the unwashed uneducated masses that so desperately needs to buy guns from your store. I spoke in error about your stance on 594, and apologized to you for the error. Your continued vagina sand is your issue. I had a shit experience in your store. You and your employees ignored me for what? 10 minutes? Your employees were busy, fine. You were standing there at the computer and didn't even look up to say hi. Typical. No need to lie about you Sergey, the community has heard enough from you to form their own opinion. Maybe you should spend less time here and more time calling the progressive liberals you support to see if they'll do their ol' buddy Solyanik a solid, huh?

Ok.. How about we all leave the personal attacks to ourselves and focus on the disease that is being injected into Seattle. A disease that, if passes, will be the launchpad for a statewide initiative.... Which so far we don't have a good record on winning, probably because we are too busy fighting each other...

From my earlier post: Incidentally, I do, of course, have a video recording of the store. Michael entered it @ 13:32:52 PM on Saturday, 12/28/2015. There were 2 salespeople in the store, and 4 customers, excluding Michael. I was working with one of the customers on his transaction (a trade), two other customers were being shown guns (2 salespeople, 2 guns out on the counter). Even though, less than 3 minutes and 30 seconds after his entry, Michael had a gun he was purchasing in his hands. After that, he had an undivided attention of one salesperson all the way until he left the store just over 18 minutes later.
