Being "ok" with a law passing and actively supporting it definitely are different.

Supporting a law means you
Quote:
verb
1.
bear all or part of the weight of; hold up.
"the dome was supported by a hundred white columns"
synonyms: hold up, bear, carry, prop up, keep up, brace, shore up, underpin, buttress, reinforce, undergird
"a roof supported by pillars"
2.
give assistance to, especially financially; enable to function or act.
"the government gives $2.5 billion a year to support the activities of the voluntary sector"

will help make it a reality. If you are willing to vote "yes" to make a law a reality then that is more than passively being "ok" with it. That is quite literally creating the law, a mere step down from authoring it.

Show me one city council candidate who would vote "no" on this law. Just one. Can you do it?

Will Burgess's remaining challenger vote "no"? Do you even know or are you asking people to donate to someone who might vote "yes" on this? Why would you do that? Just to "get back" at Burgess? That seems emotional rather than logical.

If you have 2 different politicians, and both of them want to destroy you, why should you support one over the other?

I will put in an email to the remaining challenger's campaign and see if they support these laws, as of recently and post any citizens like Soly trying to educate them.
My guess is they do.

Here is a link to the video news story and the written transcript of it.

I'm curious why no one in the article mentioned preemption and there was only a vague reference to a "lawsuit" without specifying why.

Soly, at this time I think your best attempt legislatively would be to put together solid numbers estimates based on Seattle v Chan and adjust it for inflation to show how much the lawsuit would cost the city or anyone trying to defend the city. Even "pro-bono" work can be given a dollar value, even if it isn't actually charged. I don't think that the numbers or logic will sway the council or any candidates, but it would put those number predictions on record so when the lawsuit inevitably goes down and the prediction is close to the actual cost, then maybe that will help persuade the clowns the NEXT time around.

Yes, they did a fantastic job taking all real information out and create a bunch of meaningless sound bites.

One thing that I just could not get the news media to pick up is how ridiculous the idea of taking the average number and applying it, plus/minus 100k, to a small (in terms of number of gun shops) people. Takes it from a meaningful political discussion into he said/she said thing....

Fearless leaders of Seattle voted to tax everything including hot air and bullets.

Stinkey linkey to follow with all of the grisly details.

Seattle moves forward with “gun violence tax” on all weapons, ammo

1 day ago ... Seattle moves forward with “gun violence tax” on all weapons, ammo ... to imposing a sweeping sales tax on both weapons and ammunition .... die in a nuclear holocaust of New York City and Washington, DC, I'd be all for it.

Let's all go buy guns and ammo at Precise Shooter, form a class action against Seattle, and use profits from their ass raping of state preemption to buy silencers.
