So you are saying I have to drag my ass all the way from Dudevall to downtown Seattle to renew next year? Bitch.

Turns out I have to go down to the cess-pool courthouse next week for a meeting anyway, so I'll drop in while I am there. As much as I would like to piss in the wheaties at Sammamish... they don't *have* to take applications from county residents (e.g. Woodinville doesn't, and it is a contract city too)... maybe someone who is a resident can point it out to them.

That's how I usually end most of my conversations, but in my old age I've discovered that usually pisses people off on the internet. That and telling star wars spoilers. Apparently people don't want to know that Vader is back.
There are some of us who are "piss off proof" when it comes to Star Wars anything. I personally could give a crap. I got so much of it when Star Wars first came out I damn near went broke with all the shit my ex wife bought for one of my sons. I got such a hard-on for Star Wars I thought I'd have to "enter a program". Instead I just got rid of the wife and like magic, it all went away.

Nice. Maybe a few years ago they said no local renewals. So great! We really do have a good PD.

Not much of a wait early in the morning, except where I failed to notice they don't open at 930am on the 4th Weds of every month.
They just gave me the printed new CPL right there, but it was the same old paper style I will need to get laminated. I thought they were doing new plastic cards, or is that a county by county thing?
The main downside was paying $12 for parking, not wanting to risk finding a spot on the street amongst the street critters.
Anyway, court house definitely the most expedient option in King County.

There is the new side folding variant, instead of the nebulous "can I fold this government document" version. And some counties offer lamination in house for a $1 fee. However, I have never heard of a plastic one?

Some WA jurisdictions provide plastic credit card-type CPLs. I have no idea which areas have moved to the plastic ones.

However, they wanted me to make an appointment 2 weeks out... and then said the new card will arrive 3 weeks after that.
Fingerprints are not required for a renewal, so it seems a bit odd that I just can't give them my filled out renewal form and a check sometime today and then go.
RCW 9.41.070 says "The issuing authority shall not refuse to accept completed applications for concealed pistol licenses during regular business hours."
I know there has been a little discussion of this before, but has anyone really pushed this point? They're not very cooperative in Sammamish. I wound up driving the short distance down to the Sheriff station in Covington. Quick and easy.

Applied for my CPL renewal last week in GH County. Took me about 5 minutes to complete the application, pay my $35, and be on my way. Should have it in the next week or so.
