Comments sent and following reply James,
Hello! Thank you for emailing me on this bill. The problem we have in gun safety lies with criminals and the fractured mental health system we have in our state, which is why I introduced a bill today that will streamline mental health medications when an individual with a mental illness is in crisis.
I will not be supporting HB 2354 and am truly appreciative of your advocacy on this issue.
Warmest Regards,
Caldier--Michelle

This bill is already dead. Won't make it out of committee. Moeller is pandering to Seattle, and will likely be running for Lt. Governor this year.

One of the sponsors, Sam Hunt, is from Olympia. He is a rabid liberal. I know him and the ONLY thing he and I agree on is GO COUGS! Otherwise, a hopeless liberal.

So we shouldn't Militia now? Let me know if we are, I'll go down to Costco and get snacks and energy drinks to resell just outside the standoff at a profit.

I got a reply from Roger Goodman (D) 45th: Quote: Thanks very much for contacting me about this, ANZAC.
I believe this bill violates Article I, Section 24 of the Washington State Constitution and I will not support it.
Rest assured that, as an attorney and as a legislator, I support and abide by your firearms rights secured by Washington state law, which are greater than the firearms rights secured by the U.S. Constitution.
Thanks again, ANZAC - I appreciate hearing from you.
Roger Goodman State Representative, 45th District Washington State Legislature My original email to my reps: Quote: So called "assault weapons" are used in fewer than 1 or 2 homicides per year in Washington state. Homicides using rifles of any kind account for 3 or less homicides per year in Washington. We need to focus on the nexus of weapons and criminals: drugs, gangs, theft. There is no link between high capacity magazines and lethality of shootings --- the Virginia Tech shooter brought 19 loaded magazines in a duffel bag, a mix of 10 and 15 round magazines, the Commonwealth of Virginia inquiry concluded they played no part in the lethality of the attack because he was able to quickly change magazines. Attackers are able to plan ahead and bring multiple magazines. Homeowners don't know when they will be defending themselves so should not be restricted by size of magazines. Please note that I am a Democrat and want us to focus our gun violence reduction efforts on effective solutions, not media hype.

Anzac - great reply. And I didn't know we live in the district. I am very glad to see Goodman will not support it! He never replies to my calls or emails. Odd that, so I ASSUMED he was a gun hater. Wow. QUITE NICE. Thanks!!

I am surprised at that reply from Goodman. I have met him a few times and always thought he was shifty as fuck, wouldn't trust him as far a Pablo could throw him. . . .

For those of you who think all democrats are the spawn of satan, when we take the time to communicate with politicians from a logical position and not an ideological position, they are compelled to at least consider what you say.
