Order the kit without the happy parts...

Oh, I see. Well, some will do that. Some won't do that. But I still need the parts. The VZ61 does not have a lot of SA parts available like some other guns might. You need the FA parts so you can turn them into SA parts. Otherwise SOL.

The hammer and sear can be trimmed from FA to SA in about 5 minutes with a file. The FA sear gets cut up and destroyed. Easy to leave those on the other side of the river. Boom. No happy parts on WAsoil.

So what's the penalty if someone accidentally had FA parts? (not that I would condone that) The RCW says they will be confiscated. Is that it? Big whoop.

I suspect since you can modify FA parts to be semi, you can make a strong argument that certain parts aren't EXCLUSIVELY intended for FA guns. A PPS-43 bolt can be modded to be useful. An AK FA sear and rate reducer has no other use. Ultimately I suppose it's on what you can convince the seller to sell you, or if you have a buddy in Oregon or someplace else who can get the kit for you if all else fails.

First, you'd have to find a WA cop and jury who could tell the difference between a semi part and a FA part.

Possession of a machine gun or machine gun parts in WA (9.41.190) is a class C felony.
But oddly, only a seriousness level III.
Worst case, clean record, grid says 1-3 months if they really wanted to take it to trial.

Class C felony = up to 5 years and/or $10,000
