Sorry if this is a repost, I couldn't find any threads solely for the discussion of the upcoming 41P rule coming into effect.
As I understand the rule it states that trusts will no longer be valid for the acquisition of NFA items. The result is that NFA items must be purchased and approved for individuals by signature of their presiding CLEO. Is my understanding correct? What areas have CLEO that are willing to approve NFA items? What areas don't? Will this rule effectively make some individuals incapable of obtaining NFA items? Your understanding is way off; trusts are still valid. All applications (both trusts and individuals) will need to NOTIFY their CLEO, but not get the CLEO's permission. All responsible persons on the trust will need to include photographs and fingerprints with each application. Please add any follow-up discussion to the other thread.
