(a) it is a pretty busy time of the year for guns, not much less busy than the holiday season (b) people did not have time to adjust, I am sure many were caught by surprise by the tax, but they already came to the store (c) they are a distributor, so they can afford to lower the prices on ammo by 15%. In my case 9mm costs 9.95/box from the distributor, and we sell it for 10.99, credit card fees and all. If I were to lower the price by 15%, I would be paying people 70 cents per box to take it

Seattle not releasing the information is complete BS. Especially their reason. They knew damn well there were only~20 (22?) FFL's in Seattle prior to the tax going into effect so coming out and now saying they wont release the info cause there is a "limited number". No shit theres a limited number cause there was always a limited number of FFL's in Seattle to begin with!
I am surprised with OE's amount. But with it being only the first quarter and with ammo sales I supposed that's reasonable. Real test will be the next filing ot see if it continues or drops as people know to go elsewhere

These vultures will do anything they can to "massage" the numbers their way, but after seeing all of the shops move or close all they have really done is hurt the the city and potentially create more casualties.

In their minds they have 'helped' the city. Less guns shops, less guns, less crime. Yes, that's the way they think.

Since FFL data is public, anyway, the journalist should have just called them all.

This is government we're talking about here... they detest accountability.
