As you've seen . . . sucks to be a good guy, when you just get treated like a bad guy. :frust:

Also, if you do not have a valid WA driver's license or ID card, or have not been a resident of WA for 90 previous consecutive days, the waiting period is extended to 60 days.

Again, that wait period (10 or 60 days) is ONLY if the background check results have not come in.

NICS proceed and a mandatory 10 day waiting period if you don't have a CPL. So based on your post, you will not walk out of a gun show with pistol in hand.

No mandatory wait time. After 10 day with no response from nics the gun can be released (CPL holder with delay). The hold/delay period for a handgun for the local check for people with out a cpl ranges from 1 to 30 days depending on your police/sheriff department.

Go to the Wes Knodel gun show in Centralia Nov 12-13.

No membership fee, and you get free background checks and transfers.

Just pick the FFL closest to you for later pick up if you are delayed.

If you want a pistol it's a good idea to get a CPL regardless. Simplifies rules on handguns in motor vehicles (can be loaded) and who knows, you may even want to carry it concealed rather than just leave it on the bedside table.
