Ok folks We have another cleanup set with the forest service for Saturday Aug 6 at 9am so spread the word to as many people and forums as you can. Just like in the past we'll meet at the forest clearing AKA FS-7013 and if we have enough people we'll branch off and clean up the lower pit off of FS-70 at the same time. Forest service will provide the trash bags for sure, some tools, gloves and the dumpster may or may not be there. I'll provide 5gal buckets to make cleaning up shot shells a little bit easier. If we get enough people we'll be shooting more cleaning less so lets make it a big turn out like we did back in oct. Also there is a new ranger in town overseeing recreational use in the forest, just another reason to make a big showing aug 6 to show him how dedicated we are to keeping outdoor shooting open.
For those of you that don't know; the infamous upper pit off FS-72 has been shut down/closed and the berms leveled due to unsafe firearm usage resulting in stray bullets landing near or actually hitting people in the lower pit. This is good and bad; good because we don't have to worry about stray bullets from that area anymore bad because now there is one less shooting spot for us to use. We're in the process of trying to get the upper pit redesigned safe so it can be reopened in the future. Cleanups like we've been doing is a start to making that happen and it will continue to show the forest service we're willing to donate our time and effort to the sport of target shooting.
With all that being said who's all planning to be there ?

I'd just like to take this time to thank the U.S. government and the Marine Corps in particular for years of experience with by-the-numbers one-step-at-a-time police calls.
We may also pick up a coffee traveler or two for the group.

HELL YEAH! I'm planning to be there. I've added this to the WaGuns Community Calendar. Who else is in?? This is always a good event, it feels great to get the area cleaned up and then of course it's fun to afterwards!

Dangit, that's the same day as the Puyallup WAC gun show...I suppose I could go to the gun show on Sunday, though.

Fixed my magnetic floor sweeper after Josh went crazy with it at the last clean up in capital forest. I'll bring a bunch of 5 gal buckets again to pair with the MOJO sticks. Makes cleaning up shots shells much easier.
