Just a point of view: I would recommend you do not print out the target so dark. In doing so you can obscure the "hit" on the target. With the flexibility of printing on your own you can also control the contrast mode. Lightening up the contrast will still preserve the target outline but then the real important part is that you can see where you are shooting. I used to go to a lot of ranges and see tons of folks shoot at nice totally dark bullseye targets. When it's all said and done they bring it in so they can see where they have been shooting... amazing to find that they are all over the place. If you can't see where you are shooting and hitting... it's only human to change it up and see if something "new" will work. The only fallacy to this is that you never truly become consistent. Even at close (15 feet) shooting a target with a .22 with a dark backdrop (backstop) your hit can be totally washed out in the 10 ring center. Even with larger calibers depending on distance and backstop it can cause the same effect. So print them out but keep in mind a shade lighter or grey might be more helpful to your marksmanship. |

I'm sure he'd get a kick outta that I had a lot of experience with "Woodstock(s)" back then. In ROTC I was issued an M-1 and qualified on it on the old Fort Lawton KD range. Then got an M-14 handed to me when I went on Active Duty. They took that back and issued me an M-16. Lucky me, it was an "XM16E1" but at least it had a forward assist. Now the only "Woodstock" I have is a 1903 A4. |

printtargets.net/ The one issue I see with paper targets, is that they do not do well at making clean holes, and if you group well, it gets even worse as normal paper just tears. If possible print them on heavier paper or even cardstock to get nice crisp bullet holes. |
