The mailing address is on the application to ATF. Oh for your CLEO (you can send it to your local Pierce County Sheriff or Chief of Police). County-City Building Sheriff Paul A. Pastor 930 Tacoma Avenue South, First Floor Tacoma, WA 98402 http://www.co.pierce.wa.us/pc/Abtus/our ... efault.htmThe very beginning of this thread really has all the info you need to get started (including additional links to do some research). The "Yellow Brick Road" starts with the first step... Let the Adventure Begin

Excellent! Welcome to being that much poorer! Remember to follow MadPicks directions - also mail a copy off to all your favorite sites to get their dealer pricing (e.g Midway, Brownell's, etc)...

So do you actually have to mail them a copy? And should I never sign the one I have or just make a bunch of copies before I sign. My first purchase will be a Nagant revolver aftter I get a book set up.

Don't ever sign the "ORIGINAL"
You should make a bunch of copies. Once you sign the copy... it becomes an original for record for whomever needs it.
So make yourself a PDF or computer scan of the original too! That way you have a computer safe version as well.
Each "store" runs their "dealer" program a bit differently but overall most will require a "copy" be it electronic or mailed in. Now if you buy a C&R - they want a copy original with your signature (not copy of signature).
Please read the basic from the beginning... after the part of applying. MadPick is pretty detailed.

My first purchase will be a Nagant revolver aftter I get a book set up. From the first post in this thread: Quote: 5. When the license arrives, do not sign it. Make copies, and sign the copies in blue ink. When you provide a copy of your license, it will need to have an original signature. I would then scan one of the signed copies, so you have a good-quality pdf or jpg file of the signed license. When you buy a C&R gun over the internet, you'll need to either e-mail the license or snail-mail a signed copy . . . depending on the seller. Do not sign the original license you received from the ATF; only sign the copies that you make.EDIT: Dammit, oldkim beat me to it!
