Very cool. Did you grow from seed or start? I haven't heard of those before.

You've never heard of black beans? We grow them from seeds, which are just dry black beans. This variety likes to bush and vine so they grow very well with a trellis or something to climb. We save seeds every harvest so if you'd like I'll save some for you.

Thanks man.

Nope I haven't, but I grow and eat the shit out of green beans which produced an abnormally large amount this year. Kinda got burned out on them after a whole.

Have you ever been to a Latin restaurant where they serve pinto beans and black beans? Chipotle?

Oh, Ok! Yes, they have to be shelled before you get the beans. If you pick them really early enough you can prepare black bean edamame.

What are are y'all using for cover crops this season? We're sowing oats and wheat in a couple weeks. Now that I've just about finished my deer hide, I'm going to sow my Royal Oats!

did you grow some corn to go with those black beans to make some killer black bean and corn salsa?

Corn takes up too much space for what we have available in ratio with it's yield, so no. We didn't grow corn this year.
