For sale is a second year production trapdoor rifle sn 4282. Seeing the bulk of service in the west, the first model 1873 is a rare example of early trapdoors chambered in 45/70.
These rifles are hard to find as they were recalled in 1879 up to the 50,000 SN # and replaced by the updated version of the 1873 trapdoor.
