Figured some of you might need to drool..or laugh. Gonna attempt a semi conversion on this Chauchat kit. Heres some pictures of the oddity that it is. Regular gunsmithing has gotten boring so i needed something new to mess with.

I may be wrong but I remember reading about these awhile back and during WWI the troops hated this MG as the mag would get really gummed up and would not fire.

Yes thats the one..Open window mag well..Lowest bidder spring material , rimmed cartridges with novice troops and a mag so flimsy you can crush it with your hand..what could go wrong in the trenches.

Very cool. Looking forward to seeing it cleaned up

What's that old joke about French military rifle for sale ads?

"Never fired, dropped once"

Got several semi designs sketched up... prototype parts stage coming soon. This would be a easy postie but I'm burned out on MG's. Might get real crazy with it an make lower an upper kits for AR parts.

There were issues with bad chambering on the '06 ones too

Nice, and i really like the project, but i'd see if it is worth more to someone to build a post sample instead.
